Knee Pain
Knee pain can stop you in your tracks — whether it is from a sports injury, wear and tear, or a post-surgical recovery. Physiotherapy helps restore strength, mobility, and confidence so you can get back to the activities you love.
With Naveen Ramakrishnan (MCSP HCPC) — Chartered Physiotherapist

Why Knees Are Vulnerable
The knee is a weight-bearing hinge joint that absorbs significant forces during walking, running, and jumping. This makes it susceptible to both acute injuries (such as ligament sprains and meniscus tears) and overuse conditions (like patellofemoral pain and tendinopathy). Knee osteoarthritis is also extremely common, particularly in those over 50. Understanding the specific cause of your knee pain is essential for effective treatment — and that starts with a thorough physical assessment.
Evidence-Based Knee Rehabilitation
Research consistently shows that physiotherapy and exercise are among the most effective treatments for knee pain, often outperforming passive treatments and delaying or avoiding the need for surgery. My approach combines manual therapy to address joint stiffness and soft tissue tightness, with a structured strengthening programme targeting the quadriceps, hamstrings, and hip muscles that support the knee. For sports injuries, I develop sport-specific rehabilitation plans with clear return-to-play criteria.
