Ankle & Foot Injuries

Ankle sprains, Achilles tendon problems, and foot pain are among the most common musculoskeletal injuries. Proper rehabilitation is essential to restore strength, balance, and confidence — and to prevent the injury from becoming a recurring problem.

Why Proper Rehabilitation Matters

Many people underestimate ankle and foot injuries, assuming they will heal on their own. While the initial pain may settle, without proper rehabilitation the ankle often remains weak and unstable, significantly increasing the risk of re-injury. Research shows that up to 70% of people who sprain their ankle will sprain it again without proper rehabilitation. Achilles tendinopathy and plantar fasciitis are also conditions that respond best to specific, progressive loading programmes rather than rest alone.

Comprehensive Ankle and Foot Rehabilitation

My approach to ankle and foot injuries focuses on restoring the full picture — not just reducing pain. This means rebuilding strength, improving balance and proprioception (your body's sense of joint position), restoring range of movement, and developing the confidence to return to your activities. For Achilles and plantar fasciitis conditions, I use evidence-based loading programmes that progressively strengthen the tendon to handle the demands of daily life and sport.
