Shoulder Pain & Injury
The shoulder is the most mobile joint in the body, which also makes it vulnerable to injury. Whether you have a rotator cuff tear, frozen shoulder, or impingement, physiotherapy is often the most effective path to recovery.
With Naveen Ramakrishnan (MCSP HCPC) — Chartered Physiotherapist

Common Shoulder Conditions
Shoulder problems are incredibly varied. Rotator cuff injuries are among the most common, affecting the group of muscles and tendons that stabilise the joint. Frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis) causes progressive stiffness and pain that can significantly limit daily activities. Shoulder impingement occurs when the tendons become compressed during arm movements. Each of these conditions responds well to a structured physiotherapy programme, though the approach differs depending on the specific diagnosis and stage of healing.
Rehabilitation Approach
Shoulder rehabilitation requires patience and precision. I begin with a thorough assessment to determine exactly which structures are affected and to what degree. Early treatment focuses on pain relief through manual therapy and gentle range-of-motion exercises. As symptoms improve, we progressively load the shoulder with strengthening exercises tailored to your specific condition. For post-surgical patients, I follow evidence-based protocols while adapting to your individual recovery rate.
